The Coriander Leaf Group offers exciting dining and entertainment concepts through “Coriander Leaf” and “Screening Room”
Introduction: In 2007, “Screening Room” – a dining & entertainment venue was set up by Samia Ahad, an experienced Chef & restaurant entrepreneur. Together with her original concept - “Coriander Leaf” restaurant, set up in 2001, The Coriander Leaf Group was formed. The Coriander Leaf Group is dedicated to enhancing the dining and entertainment experiences through its unique product and service offerings.

Coriander Leaf:

Coriander Leaf celebrates its 9th birthday this year - its creative Pan-Asian cuisine still attracting widespread critical acclaim as proven by its on-going status as one of Singapore’s Top Restaurants according to the influential “Wine and Dine” and “Singapore Tatler”. However, interestingly, the success of Coriander Leaf is not only a reflection of the fine dining cuisine served in its stylish and relaxed bistro, but also of its unique and dynamic “Asian Food Hub” concept within Singapore.

Established in 2001 and centrally located in Clarke Quay, Coriander Leaf is a well-established fixture in Singapore’s fine dining scene. Coriander Leaf features an exciting Pan-Asian menu, which embraces highly flavorful dishes from Lebanon, Iran, Pakistan, India, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam and a well-developed range of interpreted dishes. Coriander Leaf’s highly popular Cooking Classes, which cover over 15 different cuisines, command a loyal following.

Coriander Leaf also runs a highly successful Corporate Bonding program, which has over 50 unique regular corporate and institutional clients. As a supplementary service to her patrons, Coriander Leaf also offers Outside Catering, customised gift hampers with home-made food products and wine dinners for both corporates and individuals.

Screening Room:

Established in 2007, Screening Room has led the revival of the Club Street area as a destination for fine dining and good living. Housed in a beautiful heritage building on five floors, each of Screening Room’s five floors offers a unique but complementary entertainment experience.

Mamounia Lounge is an opulent space reminiscent of medievial Arabia. Gold panelling, mosaic tiles and velvet cushioning all inspired by the Arabian folklore of "one Thousand and One Nights". Offerings of samll plates from the Manmounia Restaurant menu, especially created cocktails and fine wines by the glass.Perfect for after work drinks and private gatherings.

Manounia Restaurant offers creative cuisine spanning the Pan-Arab world developed by local Celebrity Chef Samia Ahad. Interiors are inspired by the splendors of ancient Arabia. Choose from a sit down dinner experience where you can taste varied flavours from Morocco to the Levant and the Gulf, or step into our hidden courtyard where you can escape the city and relax in a tented al fresco area.

The Studio houses a creativity centre for events and screening, complete with filming and editing facilities.

The Theatre is an intimate screening room with a calendar of films, uniquely matched with food and cultural events.

The Terrace (La Terraza) is one of the best alfresco venues in town with unique “East meets West” views thanks to its fantastic position nestled between the banking district and Chinatown. Enjoy
probably the best views of the new Buddhist temple and of Club Street’s charming heritage houses…

Screening Room’s strap line and concept “where food meets film” comes to life through its special food and film paired events and menus. Come and watch the award winning classic “The Godfather” after enjoying a special menu in the bistro inspired by the film – of course you can expect Cannolis for dessert (from the quote “Leave the gun, take the cannolis”) in the movie.

A Culinary Dream Realised - A Note From Samia Ahad

“Food is at the center of some of the most important moments of our lives. It is over the dinner table that memories are made, deals are conducted, pain is shared… we bond, we fight, we romance, we celebrate…” – Samia Ahad, Coriander Leaf - Founder/Owner and Culinary Director.

Samia Ahad, Owner and Chef, studied and trained in a number of leading New York establishments before focusing on Asian food and launching Coriander Leaf, the New Asian Food Hub, in 2001. Her food hub idea was born from a desire to give customers more of a choice with regards to the culinary experiences they could enjoy. Which explains what Coriander Leaf is today; a center for food-related activities showcasing a fine dining bistro, corporate bonding (team building) programmes, cooking lessons, a catering service and the sale of kitchenware, hampers and stylish gifts. All this in a prime riverside setting.

The Coriander Leaf bistro cum restaurant is nevertheless the usual gateway for any of the other culinary experiences on offer here. The food served is Pan-Asian, taking its roots from South Asia, the Middle East and the Orient and brought up to date by Samia in simple, creative interpretations. Signature dishes include the crab cakes served with a home-made tomato chutney (a customer favourite), Tandoori Chicken with cucumber relish, mint chutney and butter naan and the wickedly delicious chocolate Valrhona dessert.
